Stockable - Manifesto
At Stockable, our goal is to combat waste, thereby making the world more livable for future generations and increasing profitability for our customers.
Half of the food destroyed worldwide is wasted before it ever reaches a retailer or consumer. Stockable prevents this from happening. As an online marketplace for high-quality surplus food and consumer goods, we are the bridge between manufacturers and buyers that prevents needless food destruction.
This is (1) good for the manufacturer, who receives a fair price for a batch that would otherwise be destroyed, (2) good for the buyer or retailer, who can easily and quickly access advantageous deals, and (3) good for society. After all, by preventing food destruction, we treat the climate better by lowering CO2 emissions. And, we ensure that food reaches places where it is needed, with the ultimate goal of eliminating food scarcity and hunger from the world.
Financially, it makes sense not to throw away food batches: destruction costs money, and selling makes money. There can be various reasons why you're left with surplus batches of food or consumer goods: a printing error on the packaging, overstock, a canceled promotion, and so on. However, there is nothing wrong with the products themselves, so it's a waste not to sell these batches. The process of finding a suitable buyer is often difficult and lengthy. Sometimes it takes so long that your batch expires and is no longer sellable.
Stockable prevents this from happening. On our online marketplace, we bring together sellers and buyers of surplus batches. This not only increases your reach but also the speed with which you can sell and buy—all of this safely, easily, and clearly. You set the price, you choose the buyer/seller. We ensure the process is fast, proper, and fair. For batches of food or non-food items that really can't be sold, we even offer the option to donate them at the click of a button to a charity such as the Food Bank.
